"Pearl of the Lake” is a modern-day replica of the grand riverboats that traveled on the Mississippi River in the 1800s. True to tradition, her only means of propulsion is the twin paddlewheels in the stern."

Note that on my ride, only one of the 2 paddlewheels was operating. The Captain explained it was temporarily down because its hydraulic drive motor was in need of repair.
