Experimental engines, an upscaled Yakovlev fuselage, and no airbrakes. This'll be fun.
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-9 is one of the first jets in the USSR air tree at Tier V. Sitting at a battle rating of 7.3, it used to see almost exclusively downtiers, where it faced the likes of the Meteor and the Me 262. Unfortunately, due to the Sabres and MiG-15s having their BRs reduced to 8.3, the MiG-9 sees frequent uptiers these days, where it has to fight tooth and nail just to survive. Its guns are hard to aim, its speed isn't speedy enough, and its lack of airbrakes means it's difficult to manage energy. All in all, it makes for a frustrating experience. With Ixwa Strike's addition of the Su-9 and Su-11 at BR 7.0, I don't think there's much of a place for the MiG-9 left in the skies of War Thunder, at least not until they decompress mid-tier jets so it can have some breathing room.

Note: This footage was taken before the Ixwa Strike update, so it's still got the old gun sounds. Also, I've been playing around with higher-bitrate encoding, so if you can see a difference please let me know!
