Featuring Miina-Liisa Värelä as Leonore, Clay Hilley as her husband Florestan, and Dimitry Ivashchenko as the prison guard Rocco, this excerpt from FIDELIO's Act II trio “Euch werde Lohn in bessern Welten” ("May you be rewarded in a better world"), captures a pivotal moment in which the prisoner Florestan expresses gratitude to his guards for smuggling in a piece of bread.
