Biel, in French Bienne, is a city in Switzerland, located in the canton of Bern, on the shores of Lake Biel. Biel is the second-largest city in the canton of Bern. It‘s situated on the language border between the French-speaking and German-speaking parts of Switzerland. Both languages are widely used in the city.
