This video shows a Dictyostelium discoideum cell moving in a 2-µm-deep chamber with a chemical gradient directed to the right; the chemical concentration increases by 8% across the length of the cell's body. The cell includes a green fluorescent marker that reveals the motor protein myosin and a red fluorescent dye that marks filamentary actin structures. Total time elapsed is about 17 minutes.
