Remove Socialist and Secular from Preamble. Journey from Original to Amended

Recently, a writ petition was filed by former Rajya Sabha MP Dr.Subramanian Swamy. He is seeking to delete the words "Socialism" and "Secularism" from the Preamble to the Constitution. According to the petition these two words "socialism" and "secularism" in the Preamble are not valid because they were added through the 42nd Constitution Amendment in 1976 during emergency
