The new UVA Orthopedic Center took over 10 years to develop the concept and build the facility. The goal for the facility was not only to be patient-centric, a great environment for patients to receive efficient, comprehensive care, but also a great environment for team members to work.
We've improved patient convenience so they can have multiple appointments at the same time, advanced imaging, such as MRI, CT scan, or ultrasound. The largest therapy gym in the region, physical therapy and occupational therapy are also in the building. There's walking trails around the facility. There's onsite parking for staff and for patients. There's food services within the building.
The new UVA Health Orthopedic Center is one of a kind in this region. There's only four orthopedic comprehensive centers like this on the East Coast. There's a growing need for orthopedic care. And this facility allows us to continue to grow to meet the needs of our region. And the UVA Orthopedic Center now allows us to enhance the collaboration and enhance the teamwork to provide the highest level of care.
