The U.S. saw its first case of the monkeypox virus confirmed on May 18, and as of August 4, has more than 7,100 confirmed infections. As infections continue to rise, the American Academy of Family Physicians invites its members and other health care professionals to watch this short video, after which, you will be able to describe the current prevalence of monkeypox virus infection in the United States, identify patients who have suspected infections, name prevention strategies, and review where you can locate additional information during this evolving situation.
