1/4 cup olive oil
kosher salt
Taco toppings:
1 medium onion
1lb ground beef
1 taco seasoning
Lettuce chopped
Green onions chopped
Tomatoes chopped
Cheese Grated
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Prepare your potatoes by slicing them into roughly 3/8-inch thick rounds.
Oil your baking pan and place the potato slices in a single layer. Make sure they are not overlapping, as this will help them cook evenly.
Pour some olive oil over the top of the potatoes, and use a basting brush to coat the potatoes evenly. Sprinkle some salt over each cottage potato.
Place the baking sheet in the oven and roast the potatoes for 20 minutes.
While the cottage potatoes are in the oven. Prepare your taco toppings; onions, lettuce, cheese, green onions, tomatoes, and taco beef.
After 20 minutes, flip the cottage potatoes over and then bake for another 15 minutes with metal tongs. This flipping process will help them brown evenly and become crispy on all sides.
After 15 minutes, your cottage fries should be crispy and lightly browned on the outside. If you prefer them even crispier, you can leave them in the oven for a few more minutes, but keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
Once they are done, remove the baking sheet from the oven and transfer the cottage fries to a serving plate.
Now it's time to dress the best cottage fries ever with your taco toppings.
Now it's time to enjoy your homemade oven-baked crispy cottage fries with taco toppings! These fries are perfect on their own or as an addition to your standard tacos with tortilla shells.
