Intel Tiger Lake Overclocked?
Believe it or not, this is a 45W Intel Tiger Lake mobile CPU. It’s not supposed to fit on a desktop motherboard, but a Chinese company called 尔英 (Ěr yīng) did it anyway. And thanks to our Chinese friends, we can even overclock the CPU to 5.2 GHz
The BIOS contains a lot of settings, so here are the main ones to configure. First we must disable the overclocking locks. Second, we must allow it to use more than 45W of power. Third, we obviously have to set higher CPU ratios to get our overclocked frequencies. Lastly, we have to set an appropriate adaptive core voltage.
We can also overclock the memory to DDR4-4000
Then we run a bunch of benchmarks and stability tests to check if our CPU is stable. We got up to +33% performance improvement in Shadow of the Tomb Raider with an RTX 2080 TI.
Not too shabby
