This material is designed for individuals undertaking environmental education, especially those in developing countries. To conserve our irreplaceable natural environment, environmental education that shows people their connection to nature and helps them discover the importance of conserving the natural environment is necessary. This material shows a variety of environmental eucation programs in an easy way to understand and practice.
We hope that this material will be helpful to practice environmental education, which meets the regional needs.
◎Contents of the material
■Program basics “Conveying the importance of the forest”(animation) about 15 minutes
The animation shows the major points of environmental education using the basic program procedure of “Plan-Do-Check-Act” (PDCA). In this story, we follow Meg while highlighting key points in each stage of her challenge to put an environmental education program into practice in a developing country.
■Various forms of environmental education (video)
Here we show you several actual examples of environmental education in a documentary-like video. This video is full of specific tips on environmental education methods and mental preparation from a very experienced interpreter. It also features vivid comments from local residents and program participants as well as spectacular nature footage.
