Buildings and awnings collapsed along the streets of Mamuju, a city on Indonesia's Sulawesi island, following a 6.2-magnitude quake on Friday (January 15).
The quake, which killed at least seven people and injured hundreds, according to Indonesia's disaster mitigation agency, occurred just after 1 am local time.
The epicenter of the quake was six kilometers (3.73 miles) northeast of Majene city at a depth of 10 kilometers.
A Facebook live broadcast obtained by Reuters showed damage to buildings and roofing, as well as a crushed car.
Straddling the Pacific "Ring of Fire", Indonesia is a nation of high tectonic activity that is frequently hit by earthquakes.
