5. Changes in appetite or weight

Here are some potential ways that parents can support a teenager who is struggling with depression:

· Be patient and understanding: to feel better and recover from depression can take time, and it's important to be patient and understanding with your teenager.
· Show your child you care irrespective of anything. They need to know you are not alone
· Seek professional help: Encourage your teenager to see a mental health professional, such as a therapist or psychiatrist, who can provide an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
