What a shocker — the GOP is tearing itself apart, again.

During day 2 of the Republican National Convention, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) was caught taunting former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). In an ensuing interview, McCarthy came after Gaetz for his alleged involvement in a sex trafficking case.

The situation was being looked into by the Justice Department, which ended its investigation in early 2023 into allegations that Gaetz was part of a scheme that led to a 17-year-old girl being sex trafficked. The House Ethics Committee reopened the investigation in July 2023 and it is ongoing.
