Teachers inspire and influence us, often changing the course of our lives. Here is a poem by Deborah Pope, a professor of mine from my undergraduate years at Duke. I very much admire the work she does, and appreciate the courses she taught that inspired me to pursue a PhD in English, specializing in poetry written by women. She is a poet and professor at Duke.
