Here is a first take improvised solo over a great backing track from @ElevatedJamTracks !

I always encourage my students to do this in their practice routines. Find a random backing track that you're not already familiar with, and improvise over it "reacting" to what you're hearing. Not working out anything ahead of time, but have the music guide you. Think of it as having a "conversation" with the track and not just saying what you planned on saying.

Ultimately, everything we practice (technique, rhythm/timing, speed, accuracy, theory, etc.) is only a tool to help you express what you're wanting to say with the instrument. None of those things are the end goal on its own. Improvising forces you to focus on saying something interesting musically!

It's important when doing this to take risks and try things out! It's not about performing a perfect solo (especially when practicing alone), its about trying things and seeing what sticks. This is how you create new original ideas of your own. That's ultimately what I like to demonstrate in these videos.
