16 Cunninghame Ramblers met at Ardrossan harbour to make the 55 minute ferry trip over to Arran. 14 took the bus to High Corrie where we started our walk proper.....2.5 miles basically UP. Very early on we had a small fall which resulted in a bloody shin. On reaching the tourist route, we lost one of our number who decided they had had enough, shortly after another 2 turned back due to a slight illness. The weather was cloudy, with 1 unexpected rumble of thunder and the wind picked up the higher we went. Nearing the top, we almost turned back due to the rather strong gusts but suddenly the wind subsided and we continued to the top and the 11 who made it were blessed with superb scenery as far as the eye could see, in all directions. At the top and coming down the 3.5 mile tourist path, we had another 4 falls with thankfully no serious outcomes. A 2 mile walk along the Fisherman;s walk back into Brodick brought the 'A' walk up to the 8 mile mark. We all managed to catch the 6pm ferry home. I was the leader for the day and would like to thank John for doing such a brilliant job back marking. And also to the members who came on my walk, thanks and sorry you got injured.
p.s. Hope no offence is taken by the opening music, not trying to make light of injuries sustained but use music that is connected to the walk.
