This is an extremely delusional song I wrote called The Amusement Park. It’s basically about imagining myself going on a date with this person, and what that would look like, even if it’s implausible.
Lyrics
There’s an amusement park by where I live,
With big gardens, rides, and red brick roads,
Ice cream, pizza, flowers, magic shows,
And ninety’s music on the radios.
I was sitting outside all alone today,
And I was thinking, I wish I could go there;
I wish we could go there, just you and me,
Spend the day together, making memories.
There’s just this problem, we don’t know each other,
But I guess it doesn’t matter, if it’s just me imagining myself
At the amusement park.
I can picture you holding my hand,
When it’s dark at the end of the day.
Strolling through the laughter and the lights,
And a sense of peace I can’t find elsewhere.
I was sitting on a bench all alone today,
And I was thinking, I wish I could go there;
I wish we could go there, just you and me,
Spend the day together, making memories.
There’s just this problem, we don’t know each other,
But I guess it doesn’t matter, if it’s just me imagining myself
At the amusement park.
You’d put your arm around me as we’re standing in line;
You’d buy me cotton candy and try to make me smile.
It doesn’t take much if it’s you I’m walking next to.
You’d say something to make me laugh and it would feel so right.
We’d go on every ride and have the time of our lives.
It’s not hard to have fun if it’s you I’m walking next to.
I want it to be you I’m walking next to.
I was sitting outside all alone today,
And I was thinking, I wish I could go there;
I wish we could go there, just you and me,
Spend the day together, making memories.
There’s just this problem, we don’t know each other,
But I guess it doesn’t matter, if it’s just me imagining myself
At the amusement park.
