The goal of football speed-endurance training is to develop or maintain the ability of players to perform performance or intense running in a time interval of 10-45 seconds. Velocity endurance is metabolically ensured by anaerobic capacity.

As a result of the development of speed endurance, the decrease in the intensity of execution is delayed and the ability to work for a longer period of time in the anaerobic zone develops. The body is also prepared and able to recover better from high-intensity activities. Simultaneously with the development of anaerobic capacity, aerobic capacity is being developed (football endurance without the ball)
