FEATURED WATCH: Rolex Datejust 41 Ref. 126300 Mint Green Dial
Rolex added a 41mm option to the Datejust lineup in 2009, referring to the watch as simply the Datejust II. It was perfectly on-trend with the growing popularity among collectors for larger timepieces. However, there was still a lot of room for improvement, and Rolex, not one to miss out on an opportunity to perfect every aspect of its lineup, discontinued the Datejust II and replaced it with the Datejust 41. It has more refined proportions and an upgraded movement with a 70-hour power reserve.
Ref. 126300 is the Oystersteel edition of the Datejust 41. It sports a smooth bezel and the option for a three-link Oyster or a five-link Jubilee bracelet. Additionally, it has modern design elements such as a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, a Twinlock screw-down crown, and the upgraded caliber 3235 Perpetual movement.
This model is particularly special because of the classy mint green dial, added to the Datejust 41 lineup in 2022. As of the filming of this video, it is also available for the 31mm, 36mm, and 41mm Datejust collection and in either White Rolesor or Oystersteel.
A year before the mint green dial was added to the Datejust 41, Rolex debuted the similarly hued palm and fluted motif dials. Much to the delight of passionate collectors, the larger model is now available with a solid green dial, and it is arguably the perfect shade of green for the timeless dress watch. It isn’t too bright or flashy. Instead, it has an understated mossy green hue to complement the cool tones of the stainless steel finish.
The dial has what Rolex describes as a “sunray” finish with a delicate brushed texture that reflects the light beautifully as the wrist moves. As a modern Rolex offering, it also sports Chromalight, a proprietary luminescent material that appears crisp white during the day and bright blue in the dark. The batons give the dial a sportier and more contemporary vibe than older-model Datejusts adorned with stick indices.
Of course, the collection’s signature feature, the calendar display, is displayed at the 3-hour marker alongside the distinctive Cyclops magnifier.
