Magdalena Bay played a sold out show at Webster Hall. It was my first time seeing them I was mesmerized by the band's performance. I definitely had many of Mag Bay's songs stuck in my head for days after the show. Mica said she would be hanging by the merch booth after the show to sign things and chat with fans. The line for fans wrapped around what seemed like the whole lower level of the venue and it took forever to get through everyone. Venue management was starting to get a bit annoyed as it seemed like it might run the staff into overtime, but Mica insisted she finish chatting with all the fans waiting patiently. I was afraid they were gong to get fined by the venue.
Earlier this year I did get to see them again at the merch booth after they opened for Rina Sawayama on tour and they were able to put my fears to rest. They did not suffer any repercussions from going over time meeting fans after the show. So glad to hear that!
