🇬🇧 - The E. Caffi Civic Museum of Natural History in Bergamo, located in the medieval Upper Town since 1960, was founded in 1918, where all the finds that made up the collection, until then kept in the previous location, were moved to their present location.
The museum now bears the name of the first director, the priest Enrico Caffi, who immediately devoted himself to cataloging the finds and studying the flora, fauna and geology of the surrounding area.
Today the museum offers visitors passionate about paleontology, unique fossil finds in the world, among which the almost complete skeleton of Eudimorphodon ranzii stands out, representing not only the holotype of this species but also the oldest flying reptile in the world to date. discovery.
Visiting the "Bergamo 220 million years ago" room, it is also possible to observe the skeletons of terrestrial arboreal reptiles such as Vallesaurus cenensis and Drepanosaurus unguicaudatus, aquatic reptiles such as Mystriosuchus planirostris and Endennasaurus acutirostris, fish such as Paralepidotus ornatus and Brembodus ridens, crustaceans and insects the dragonfly Italophlebia gervasuttii which constitutes the holotype of the species.
In addition to the findings I mentioned above, which tell of the Triassic area of Bergamo, the collection also consists of ammonites, plants and the remains of mammals from all over the world.

🇮🇹 - Il Museo Civico di Storia Naturale E. Caffi di Bergamo, situato nella medievale Città Alta dal 1960, venne fondato nel1918, dove tutti i reperti che costituivano la collezione, fino ad allora conservati nella precedente sede, vennero spostati nella sede odierna.
Il museo porta oggi il nome del primo direttore, il sacerdote Enrico Caffi, che si dedicò fin da subito alla catalogazione dei reperti e allo studio di flora, fauna e geologia del territorio circostante.
Oggi il museo offre ai visitatori appassionati di paleontologia, reperti fossili unici al mondo, tra i quali spicca lo scheletro quasi completo di Eudimorphodon ranzii, che rappresenta non solo l'olotipo di questa specie ma anche il rettile volante più antico del mondo fino ad oggi scoperto.
Visitando la sala "Bergamo 220 milioni di anni fà", è possibile osservare anche gli scheletri di rettili terrestri arboricoli come Vallesaurus cenensis e Drepanosaurus unguicaudatus, rettili acquatici come Mystriosuchus planirostris ed Endennasaurus acutirostris, pesci come Paralepidotus ornatus e Brembodus ridens, crostacei ed insetti come la libellula Italophlebia gervasuttii che costituisce l'olotipo della specie.
