Hey friends, welcome back to another come thrift with me and thrift haul! Today we went to the Goodwill Outlet bins again hoping to find some amazing pieces to resell on Poshmark. You can buy clothes by the pound at the bins, which gives us an amazing opportunity to practice retail arbitrage and flip them for big profits! I love creating these thrifting vlogs and sharing with you what I find while I'm out at Goodwill! Hope you guys enjoyed this come thrift with me and thrift haul!
Why do you thrift so much?
I have so much fun finding high-quality pieces for a really cheap price. I'm essentially addicted to finding the best deal possible. By shopping at the Goodwill Outlet bins, I'm able to see TONS of pieces that are all extremely cheap. Sure, there are a bunch of terrible pieces of clothes, but I have the chance to buy a Patagonia jacket in great condition for under $1. I highly suggest you try thrifting at the Goodwill Outlets some time
What are the Goodwill Outlet bins?
The main difference is that Goodwill Retail Stores are the first stop for donations. After items have set on the retail shelves for a long period of time, they are sent to a Goodwill Outlet Store where they sell by the pound before finally recycled. With everything going on right now and more people at home than ever, Goodwill has seen a huge influx in donations. All the people donating things too quickly has led to Goodwill being forced to send things to the Goodwill Outlets without really giving people a chance to find a piece in the retail store.
Can you make money thrifting?
Yes, you definitely can make money thrifting and reselling online! Thousands of people do it for a living across tons of different websites like Poshmark, eBay, Mercari, Etsy, Craigslist, and Facebook Marketplace. There are so many ways to make money reselling clothes/things online and I want to show you guys just how you can do it too. That's why I create these thrift with me and thrift haul videos. By showing you what I'm able to buy from goodwill and other thrift stores, I hope that I inspire some of you to start reselling.
Why do you primarily use Poshmark?
Poshmark is such an easy website/app to use. I started selling a few years back in order to get rid of some clothes from my closet that I didn't need anymore. I knew that these clothes were worth something, so I didn't want to get rid of them for free. That's when I decided to start using Poshmark, a service that I had heard from tons of other Youtubers. I gave it a try and instantly fell in love with reselling. The idea of turning a dollar or two into $20-100 is so much fun. Thrifting and Poshmark are my guilty pleasure.
Why do you love Patagonia so much?
It's such a high-quality piece. The Patagonia jackets that I've seen usually cost quite a bit, nothing too crazy, but definitely more an average jacket. I feel like Patagonia and more specifically their jackets are something you buy and hold for a long period of time. When I tried on the Patagonia jacket, I found a man's passport and room key. I made sure to safely destroy the passport, but it furthers my point that it's a high-quality brand. This man probably held onto and used this jacket a ton before getting rid of it. He obviously valued his Patagonia jacket. I was so happy to find it in my come thrift with me and thrift haul! It really improves my fall-related listings on poshmark.
What is retail arbitrage / arbitrage?
Arbitrage is the act of buying and selling something in different markets (Poshmark, eBay, Mercari) in order to take advantage of differing prices for the same asset. It's essentially flipping different products or goods for a profit. I like to think of what I do as retail arbitrage! I spend time going around to different stores and while I'm there, I'm constantly looking around for the perfect flip.
