We are often asked, "How do you treat your Japanese honeybees(Apis cerana japonica) for varroa mites?". We don't treat our bees for varroa mites, and here's why: Japanese honeybees(Apis cerana japonica) and varroa mites are both native to Japan and have evolved together. This means that Japanese honeybees have developed excellent grooming skills and can effectively remove varroa mites. Therefore, no treatment by beekeepers is necessary.
