Construction on South Korea's first arena specifically for K-pop will begin this June with the goal of being completed in 2025.
The Seoul Metropolitan government and IT giant Kakao signed an agreement on Monday to build what has been dubbed the "Seoul Arena" in Seoul’s northern Dobong-gu District.
Currently,... most large-scale K-pop concerts are held at sports arenas not built for musical purposes.
The multicultural complex will host a music-specialized main concert venue as well as mid-sized concert facilities and movie theaters and will be able to accommodate a total of around 28-thousand visitors.
The venue is expected to be a new landmark in the city offering a variety of cultural content, potentially attracting around one-point-eight million visitors per year.
