The Joint FAO/WHO Expert Meetings on Microbiological Risk Assessment, known as JEMRA, is one of the expert bodies that provides scientific advice on food safety to the Codex Alimentarius Commission. Countries use this advice to set standards that reduce or control the risk of microbiological hazards in food.
In this video, several scientists who work on Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) explain why food safety is the business of the scientific community. The message echoes the theme of World Food Safety Day 2020: Food safety, everyone’s business.
