This video demonstrates the experimental V8 firing order 15736842, which fires the left bank 4 times, then the right bank 4 times. As far as I know this firing order has only been tested a few times.
EDIT: perhaps not in the exact sequence shown here but the 1936 Cord 810 and the naturally aspirated 1937 Cord 812 fired all cylinders in one bank followed by all cylinders in the other bank.
4 out of the 8 possible V8 firing orders fire each cylinder in the left bank followed by each cylinder in the right.
Extensive minutes of internet research suggests at least Larry Mogan and Billy Godbold tried this firing order or made Camshafts to do it.

While crossplane V8s have some challenges with intake and exhaust manifolding I think this firing order would add a bunch of trouble, it would sound pretty interesting though.
