This light military backpack from the swiss army has been sitting in storage for a long time.
The leather on its straps has gotten really cracked and dry, one of them being broken completely off. I create exact replicas of the straps from vegetabile tanned leather and replace the old ones with them. The straps are attached using the traditional saddlers stitch with an additional leather backing strip on the back side of the fabric.
