I've been interested in using the song "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" for one of my videos for a long time. As is often the case, there are some passages of the lyrics that don’t fit 100 percent with the story of the Outlander series and therefore have to be interpreted figuratively. But in many ways the song fits perfectly with Jamie & Claire's reunion. The reunion is full of emotions and brings back memories and feelings that were very painful during the years of separation and that they rarely allowed themselves to experience during this time. But now they're coming back to the surface with a vengeance and the lyrics allow you to play with that fact. Since the wedding night and the night of Claire's return are structured very similarly and have many parallels, it is easy to jump back and forth between the images from the present and the past. That's why I used images from seasons 1 to 3 for the video. I changed perspective a few times. I interpreted the beginning of the song from Claire and Jamie's perspective. The first chorus is from Claire's point of view, followed by Jamie's, and at the end of the song the perspective switches between the two again. I deliberately used some scenes twice, albeit with slightly different images. I found it appealing and somewhat romantic to suggest that they both associate certain situations with the same emotions or memories. I hope you enjoy watching!
