Like many other Nations, British Antarctic Survey are undergoing a significant period of change with the introduction of a new Research Vessel (and with it a reduction from two ships to one and therefore a fundamental shift to the way we deliver science and operations), construction projects at every Station, and the need to modernise across all aspects of the Organisation, including digital. Balancing physical transformation, alongside strategic, cultural and societal change (for example, Net Zero and development of EDI) is hugely challenging and having now been in this period of change for 5 years, there are many lessons that can be shared around the management of that change to support other programmes undertaking similar activity.
