Raw papaya curd raita south Indian recipe | Tasty side dish for chapathi, poori, rice or pulav etc. Here's a recipe for raw papaya curd raita, a delicious and healthy side dish:
Ingredients:
Raw papaya - 1/4th, large
Fresh Curd(yogurt) - 1+1/4 cup
Salt -1 tsp or to taste
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Green Chilli - 1, slit
Water - 1 cup
For temepring
Oil - 2tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Jeera/cumin -1/2tsp
Urad dal - 1tsp
Dried Red Chilli - 1, broken
Curry Leaves - 1, sprig
Instructions:
Wash, Peel and chop the raw papaya, and keep it aside.
Heat oil in a small pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and let them splutter. Add redchilli and curry leaves. Saute for a few seconds.
Add chopped papaya, green chilli, turmeric and water. Cook papaya until soft.
Once the papaya cooked, Switch off the stove and allow papaya mixture to cool down
In a mixing bowl, whisk the curd/yogurt until smooth.
Add curd to the cooled papaya mixture. Mix well. Adjust the salt
Serve chilled.
Raw papaya curd raita is ready to enjoy! This dish goes well with rice, roti, or as a side dish to any South Indian meal.
