Robert Finley is a blues & soul singer from Bernice, Louisiana.
He was brought up as part of a deeply religious family and Robert found himself playing the blues, in secret, away from his disapproving father.
His early life was spent playing in Gospel bands AND during his time in the services, he even became an army band leader.
Years later, he was discovered playing in the streets in Arkansas and his first album ‘Age Don’t Mean a Thing’ was recorded & released by ‘Big Legal Mess’.
This led to an introduction to Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys who immediately took Robert into his Easy Eye studios.
Planning to record just a handful of songs, Robert and Dan quickly found themselves writing and recording an entire album - ‘Goin’ Platinum’.
We discuss Robert’s fascinating journey and he performs a version of ‘Medicine Woman’
