It's hard to believe that this music wasn't written for this scene. Burkhard Dallwitz wrote an original score for the film, but several scenes also used pre-existing music, and one new composition, by Philip Glass, amongst others. In this pivotal scene, where Truman starts to realise that all is not as it seems, the music Glass wrote for 'Powaqqatsi' (1988) is a perfect fit.
Starring Jim Carrey in a Golden Globe winning role, Ed Harris, Laura Linney, Paul Giamatti, Natasha McElhone, Noah Emmerich, Harry Shearer and Philip Baker Hall. Directed by Peter Weir, from a screenplay by Andrew Niccol. Music for this scene by Philip Glass.
