In this video, I am going to show you an easy way to create advanced sounding chords on your guitar. With this method, you will find yourself playing the chords first before actually learning what you are playing.
This approach is a great way to easily create advanced chord progressions on your guitar, even if you have completely no idea what advanced chords are, or how to play any.
You will first choose a chord progression on your guitar with which to apply this method.
Next you simply choose a note or voicing out of the first chord of the progression.
From this note, you will be moving up chromatically, one fret at a time, on your guitar.
The chromatic line moves one half step for each chord change in the progression.
The chromatic line you are effectively harmonising with your chord progression can ascend or descend.
Because you can begin the line from a variety of chord/scale tones relating to the chord, there are many variations for the same progression.
In a lot of cases the melody note/chromatic tone will dictate the type of chord you create.
You can also create longer chromatic passages by repeating the progression several times continuing to apply this approach to create all sorts of very cool chord voicing's on your guitar.
Your sense of harmony and command over chord voicing’s and moving lines (voices) on your guitar will develop and improve greatly with this method.
