Hatchet Pond is located near Beaulieu and is the largest body of fresh water in the New Forest National Park. The pond is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Area for Conservation as it is home to rare wetland plants and freshwater animals. This includes many dragonflies and damselflies, making it one of the best places to spot them in the UK.
