The 2023 Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC sports sedan is the first AMG-fettled version of the latest fifth-generation W206 Mercedes-Benz C-Class and it’s now arrived in Australia.
Priced around $22,000 higher than the model it replaces and now powered by a downsized 2.0-litre mild-hybrid turbo-petrol engine with F1 tech, the heavier new C 43 is slightly quicker and more efficient than the V6 model it replaces.
The extra cash also brings loads more technology, luxury and style, but is the new C 43 still deserving of its AMG badge?
