Formed in Orlando, FL, the boy band consisted of JC Chasez, Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick. The group was one of the most successful bands of the teen pop era, with three studio albums and selling over 70 million records. In 2002, the group disbanded while members went on to their own solo projects.
Their self-titled debut album was first released in Germany in 1997, then worldwide in 1998. It peaked at #2 in the US and 4 singles were released internationally.
Released as the second single from the album, Tearin' Up My Heart peaked in the top ten in Germany, UK and Canada, but only went to #59 in the US
