Since Carbink was released a short while ago in Pokemon Go there hasn't been much opportunity to put this beast to use in the Go Battle League. While it may look unassuming Carbink is the highest rated Pokemon for not only Open Great League, but also for pretty much any Great League format it's permitted to enter in GBL. Due to its awesome typing of Rock and Fairy its able to dismantle many strong cores like Noctowl and Medicham with ease and due to its sheer stat product will win most neutral matchups too.

With the release of Great League and Great League Remix this week Carbink is primed for its debut in dominating the PVP scene. I decided to pre-empt this by building a balanced Remix Team that not only can handle the wider remix meta, but every Pokemon on this team is a Carbink counter and wins against it. So no matter where you might see a Carbink on an opponents team, it's not going to be a problem for you!

Now the awkward thing here is that we don't actually see ANY Carbink in our battles, I guess less people have been grinding the XL candies for this than I thought. But still we go on a 10-0 Win Streak against a variety of strong lines in this cup.

On the lead we're bringing the new buffed Quagsire, in Shadow Form too! The happy mud boi has access to one of the most spammy ground type combinations in the game as wella s Stone Edge to threaten Fliers that may try to wall it. On the safe swap we're bringing Cresselia, an absolute tank of a pokemon with great versatility thanks to the legacy move Grass Knot and Moonblast to threaten some of those fighters like Scrafty that are so common in this cup.

To round out the team as well as bring some extra Grass or fighting protection for Quagsire the Brutal Star Pokemon Toxapex is here! Also sporting incredible bulk as well as more room to flex thanks to the fact that many of its strongest counters, Registeel, Stunfisk, Swampert etc. are banned!

Dealing with a powerful new Pokemon requires some powerful counters...
