Dozens of journalists in Gaza protested Israel's targeted killings of their press colleagues. The war is the deadliest for journalists in history, surpassing World War II, warns the Committee to Protect Journalists. Over 100 journalists have been killed since Israel’s war on Gaza began on October 7, according to the Gaza Media Office.
The signs held up during the protest read in Arabic, “No to targeting journalists” and “Targeting journalists is a crime.” Al-Manar TV correspondent Abu Aoun said in a speech, “The invincible will of journalists is derived from the power of the Palestinian people. The coverage will continue.”
The extermination war against Gaza is the first in human history to be broadcast to the world in such detail in near real-time through the tireless efforts of regional journalists. Reporters Without Borders has filed several cases with the International Criminal Court against Israeli war crimes targeting journalists in Gaza since October 7.
