In questo secondo video vediamo come usare gli articoli determinativi plurali: i, gli, le.
- “i” è il plurale di “il” ed è usato con i sostantivi maschili singolari (es. il gatto - i gatti, il tavolo - i tavoli)
- “gli” è il plurale di “lo” e “l’” (maschile) ed è usato con i sostantivi maschili plurali che cominciano con: “s+ consonante”, “z-”, “ps-”, “y-”, “gn-”, vocale (es. lo studente - gli studenti, lo spagnolo - gli spagnoli, lo zaino - gli zaini, lo psicologo - gli psicologi, lo gnomo - gli gnomi, l’amico - gli amici)
- “le” è il plurale di “la” e “l’” (femminile) ed è usato con tutti i sostantivi femminili plurali (es. l’amica - le amiche,
la mela - le mele, la nave - le navi).
Consiglio: per scegliere l’articolo corretto controllate sempre se il sostantivo é maschile, femminile, singolare o plurale e poi con quali lettere inizia!

- “i” is the plural form of “il” and is followed by plural masculine nouns (e.g. il gatto - i gatti = the cat - the cats, il tavolo - i tavoli = the table - the tables)
- “gli” is the plural form of “lo” and “l’” (masculine) and is followed by plural masculine nouns starting with: “s+ consonant”, “z-”, “ps-”, “y-”, “gn-”, a consonant (e.g. lo studente - gli studenti = the student - the students, lo zaino -gli zaini = the rucksack - the rucksacks, lo psicologo - gli psicologi = the psychologist- the psychologists, lo gnomo - gli gnomi = the gnome - the gnomes, l’amico - gli amici = the friend - the friends)
- “le” is the plural form of “la” and “l’” (feminine) and is followed by any plural feminine noun (e.g. l’amica - le amiche = the friend - the friends, la mela - le mele = the apple - the apples).
Top tip: in order to choose the correct definite articles, check if the following noun is masculine or feminine, singular or plural and then which letters it starts with.
