Battery electric vehicles accounted for 11.2% of all new car registrations in Western Europe in 2021. The rollout of charging points and the necessary infrastructure, however, is still lagging behind. Furthermore, with consumers demanding faster charging times and car manufacturers introducing EVs with higher power charging levels, it is important to ensure that the charging infrastructure is able to support it.
Some of the challenges in ensuring ultra-fast EV charging at charging stations include high operational costs and insufficient capacity in certain locations. In order to examine these challenges and potential solutions, this webinar will bring together a range of stakeholders from industry – charging, battery energy storage and vehicle manufacturing – and policy research.
