If you ever tried to solve Forrest Fenn's treasure hunt, you eventually faced a fundamental question about the nine clues: What are legitimate candidates for the places they refer to? Canyons and creeks seem permissable, but what about trees? Or buildings and other manmade structures? In general terms, how lasting do these places need to be? In this video I investigate these ideas, mainly looking at a question Forrest answered a few years ago. Despite the answer, which is enlightening—and frustrating—some questions still remain.
