Understanding what adopted children come from in the foster care system. In any country, foster care is complicated because of children being taken away from their families. As a current adopter but an ex foster carer, I explain what it would be like for our adopted children to navigate that system. Adopted children can go through a great deal before they finally enter the adoption process. Every adopter should understand what their adopted children have already been through in their foster care journey
