Michael Jordan and Yvette Prieto's romance began in 2008, when a mutual acquaintance met them at a Miami club. Michael's separation from first wife Juanita Vanoy had only recently ended.
Yvette, who was born in Cuba but grew up in Miami, was a successful model who had been featured in a number of commercial campaigns and publications. Michael and Yvette began dating despite the fact that there was a significant age gap between them of 15 years.
After dating for some time, Michael proposed to Yvette over the Christmas holidays of 2011. They tied the knot in 2013 in a grandiose wedding in Palm Beach, Florida, with close friends and family in attendance, including basketball greats Charles Barkley and Scottie Pippen.
Michael and Yvette have, during their whole marriage, kept their private lives out of the spotlight. Together, they raised two beautiful girls, Victoria and Ysabel.
Michael has said that Yvette is a steadying influence in his life and that he appreciates her friendship and support. He thinks highly of her because of her brains and the way she manages to prevent his life from becoming too chaotic.
Their partnership is an inspiration for those who believe it is never too late to discover love and who want to learn the keys to a happy, healthy marriage: compromise, understanding, and commitment. They're proof that a relationship can survive the pressures of celebrity and the passage of time if two people are committed to making it work. Both in their personal lives and in their professional roles as philanthropists and activists for social change, they have been an inspiration to many people thanks to their long-lasting love and relationship.
