It's important to continuously work on obedience to build the muscle memory for the dog and it'll get easier and easier as they get older-- but it'll still put them in the "it's time to work" mode.

Try this: take one minute before your next training session doing cool marks or running blinds or whatever your big plan for the day might be..... and try doing some heel work, make the dog sit patiently in a holding blind, etc. and then see how they perform.
