Most of the anime Black Lagoon's characters have deeply developed motivations, and with some like Balalaika or Roberta, who are oriented to real world history as well. Even minor characters, like Masahiro Takenaka, the revolutionary tycoon, can have this influence. Along with Ibraha, he leads the PIF, as they seek to change the world through attacks. But, does Takenaka really think they can, and does he actually want to? Is he a fake fighter? From his conversations with Rock, we can piece together a real world history that explains his motivations and blackened record in depth, and how even minor villains like him can be impactful characters worthy of analysis.
