Welcome to one of Southern California’s most #haunted locations, Blackstar Canyon which is located in Orange County, California and just minutes from #la. It has been the site of numerous murders and deaths, and many locals and #paranormal professionals believe this to be one of the most haunted locations in all of #socal. In fact, numerous people believe that the murdered spirits still haunt this canyon.
So, let’s take a trip to learn more!
We’ll learn about the area’s history which goes back millions of years to when this area was an ancient seabed. It would later become a seasonal home to the local #Tongva and #Ajachamen Native American tribes as they would come to the canyon to collect acorns from the oak trees. Following the Spanish conquering of #California, the canyon would become the home of a small ranch known as Rancho Escondido, or Hidden Ranch. The early 1900’s would see a coal mining company by the name of Black Star move in and provide the canyon with the name that it still carries today.
Let’s learn about three #horrific events that have contributed to the #ghostly reputation of this haunted canyon. We’ll first learn about the 1831 Native American #massacre in which a group of hired men tracked the local Tongva tribesmen to their tribal site and killed every last one of them. Then, we’ll learn about the cold-blooded #murder of local rancher James Gregg, which would happen only feet from where the natives were massacred. Finally, we’ll learn about a school bus #crash in 1970 that killed everyone on board as their bus lost control and careened down the canyon.
This video was a lot of fun to make and a lot of hard work to get to these hidden locations. It was also a lot of fun to make a #spooky type documentary just in time for #halloween. For those who wondered, I go myself to all of these locations. I ride my mountain bicycle named Billy Burro sometimes over 20 miles to reach these amazing places. Then follows the work of writing and editing the videos into something educational and fun. It hasn’t been easy, but I think this is what I was meant to do. I hope that you enjoy these and please let me know if you have any ideas or comments. Please follow me to catch all my future learning and educational videos!
