(24 Jan 2015) Thousands of Palestinian demonstrators took to the streets of the West Bank city of Hebron on Saturday, rallying against French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.
The demonstrators joined many others across the Muslim world who have staged protests against Charlie Hebdo's cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad.
According to mainstream Islamic tradition, any physical depiction of the Prophet Muhammad - even a respectful one - is considered blasphemous.
An attack on Charlie Hebdo's Paris office on 7 January killed 12 people.
Charlie Hebdo's latest issue, which came out after the attack and depicts a cartoon image of the Prophet Muhammad crying, has set of a groundswell of popular antagonism across Europe against radical Islam, and protests against the images across the Muslim world that have underscored vast cultural differences.
