If you visit the University's website on a special page entitled, Vision 2020: the University of the District of Columbia's Strategic Planning Process you'll read, "Over the last year, the University asked more than a thousand students, alumni, faculty members, administrators, business leaders and the wider District of Columbia community a simple question: What should the future of the University of the District of Columbia look like? While individual responses varied, the University community overwhelmingly believes that our University, through lots of hard work and tough decision making, will become the premiere institution of higher education that the residents of the District of Columbia deserve..." Joining me again is the author of that statement, Dr. James E. Lyons Sr., Interim President. And with Dr. Lyons is Dr. Calvin E. Woodland, the interim Chief Executive Officer of the UDC Community College. Together these gentlemen are directly responsible for the development and implementation of the vision that will emerge a the conclusion of the UDC and UDC Community College strategic planning process. The focus our discussion is how they envision the University and the Community College Collaborating to achieve a premiere institution of higher education that the residents of the District of Columbia deserve.
