History of the creation of the work: The painting ‘Love’ became a narrative of love’s resilience and the beauty found in unexpected places.
As I worked on this painting, I reflected on the losses I had experienced. It was through these losses that I began to understand the brightness of love and life. Love is not a gentle pastel; it is a spectrum of intense hues, and life, with all its unpredictability, is what makes these colours shine even brighter. The contrast between the smooth gold and the rough, textured areas highlights the duality of love—its serenity and its chaos.
For many years, my life was structured and orderly. There was a need in colour, passion, and creativity. The war in Ukraine was a catalyst for change, I had to move, and I found new, unexpected colours.
The vibrant reds and pinks represent passion and affection, while the yellows and greens symbolize joy and growth. The turquoise adds a touch of tranquillity, balancing the intense emotions with calmness and peace. The gold leaf background serves as a reminder of the preciousness and timelessness of love.

Participation in other competitions and festivals / creative achievements: I am Ukrainian. Throughout my distinguished career in Ukraine, I have excelled as an engineer and financier, holding an MBA and over 20 years of experience in top management positions at major companies. While design and art have always been my passions, they remained hobbies and dreams rather than my primary occupation. The start of the war in Ukraine was a turning point for me. Seeking safety and needing to be close to my children, I moved to the UK and embraced a new chapter in my life by opening my own design studio and dedicating myself to painting. This drastic life change was driven by my belief that we each have only one life to live, and by the persistent 'what if' thoughts in my mind—'What if I chose a different career path?’
My mission is to inspire, provoke, and challenge perceptions through my art. I am deeply passionate about the design of everything that surrounds us, creating stylish modern spaces that evoke emotion and thought. By experimenting with mixed media and exploring the psychology of design and colour, I aim to spark curiosity, discovery, and self-reflection in those who experience my work. Through my paintings, I strive to showcase the Ukrainian identity: free, sometimes stubborn, and always passionate.
I find joy in painting during the quiet evenings and nights, those precious moments when the house is still and the world outside my window is calm. It is in this peace that imagination and inspiration flow, allowing me to bring my ideas to life. Thank you for your interest in my original work.
